Our History

Rocket Foods, formerly Rocket Kitchen Wholesale, was founded in 1998 by a chef and a baker. We have come a long way since then, but over the years we’ve learned heaps. Now, we’ve got over 20 years of wholesale baking experience.

In the beginning, we were on a mission and it was simple, to bake the best carrot cake in Auckland. Once we’d cracked it, we wanted to share it with the rest of New Zealand. The more we made, the more our range grew. Before we knew it we had both sweet and savoury product and a retail store, you might know Rocket Kitchen.

In 2018, we acquired a majority shareholding in Ma Cherie French Pastry, and in 2020, they became part of the family.

Our Values

Our values are short and sweet, so we can crack on with the baking.

“Create food we are proud to share with our friends and family”

We are a group of chefs, bakers and true foodies. We want to make food we are proud to share. We do this by using real ingredients, being dedicated to the process and keeping our standards high.

This goes into everything that we do; from the way we do business, to the way we run our kitchen. It’s important to the whole team that our values are followed.

Our Recipes

We’ve been perfecting our recipes over 20 years, yes, some products have been in our range that long! Our recipes are tried, tested and perfected. We’re very proud of them and think they are some of the best around.

We have an internal New Product Development team who are always busy working in our test kitchen on new creations. Let us know if there is something you’d love to see in our range.

Our Products

We’re busy baking everyday in our Kitchen. Our team work on large batches but everything is made by hand to ensure they have the Rocket Foods’ quality look, taste and finish.

Before any item leaves our Kitchen, it’s approved by one of our production supervisors to ensure that it meets the gold quality standard we set for ourselves. We do our utmost to ensure everything arrives at our customers in the same condition as they’ve left our kitchen – this means careful packing, picking and dispatch.
